Eligibility: Cub, Scout, Venturer, Rover and Leader

This is a weekend activity where youth members can tick off some of the requirements to go towards Stages 1 to 4 of the OAS Youth Program or SP for Leaders. Some parts of different Stages can be done a Unit meeting in the hall either before or after activity.

The activity will involve participants in the safety requirements and basic abseiling techniques.  They will learn to abseil on a variety of cliffs from a few meters to up to 20 or more. Sunday we will continue abseiling and improve on technique and start introducing some of the rescue techniques required for more advanced activities like Canyoning and Vertical caving.

This is a self-catered overnight activity. Participants can arrive Friday night. Accommodation at a local Scout Hall can be arranged.

A unit Leader must accompany youth members.

Abseiling gear is available for use for the duration of this activity.
