About the hike
Wallabadah Rock is a volcanic plug, it’s the second largest single rock in Australia and like Uluru most of it is underground. Just on the Murrurundi side of the Great Divide we access it by turning at Blandford. The whole hike is on private land. We camp along the Warlands Creek. The advance party will camp at the foot of Mount Hammond on Friday night.
Saturday morning we divide into smaller teams to navigate our climb to the top of Mount Hammond to see the Rock in its splendour. Saturday we head to the base of the rock, where we camp the night. Sunday we complete the 2 hour walk around the base of the rock and if conditions are good complete the 1 hour hike to the summit of the rock. After lunch we hike back to the drop off point.
Friday night start or Saturday morning. See attached notes
